Dress comfortably in nice casual attire.
If you are looking to wear vintage clothes for one of our theme parties (swing, disco/funk, etc.), or just for fun, here's are some options, particularly for swing styles:
Clothing ideas
(20's - 50's)
Some quick ideas: This list is by no means exhaustive... just
quick ideas that might help. The owner/manager of a vintage
clothing store can guide you.
Guys: high-waisted baggy slacks, zoot suits, sweater &
suit vests, button-hole suspenders, short fat ties, bow ties,
pocket watches with long chains, spectator shoes, saddle shoes,
bowling shoes, collegiate varsity sweaters, fedora hats, straw
hats, pork pie hats.
Girls: print dresses with shoulder pads, jumper dresses
over a white button down shirt, twirly skirts, poodle skirts,
flapper outfits, spectator shoes, saddle shoes & bobby socks,
bowling shoes, gloves and small handbags, snoots, big flower for
hair, hats with veils or fruit or birds or feathers or all of
those combined - yikes.
- Also try renting a couple old movies or "Swing
Kids" for ideas.
